Bo Diddley and the Duchess
by Pat Redding Scanlon
8.5x11 Colored Pencil on Paper

Nix Comics has many artistic heroes, some obvious and some not. Pat Redding Scanlon was commissioned to create portraits of some of those heroes!

So, Bo Diddley's influence on "Nix Rock 'n Roll Comics" should be obvious: If it's Rock 'n Roll, it's informed and shaped by Bo SOMEHOW. You all know that, right? The Duchess, on the other hand, is less familiar to a lot of us. Norma-Jean Wolford, or the Duchess, replaced "Lady Bo" to be the second woman to support the Diddley daddy. Both women brought much needed aura of stylish if tacit cool to Bo's music and performances. They were the Cramps's Poison Ivy of their time!

And hey... Be sure to pair your purchase with a copy of "Undead Ballads" to get the full Pat-Effect!
