NOT a Kickstarter Update Week 6

Things have started to slow down in terms of pre-order sales. Since the first of the month just 11 books for $216.50 dollars. I think all of the low-hanging fruit have been picked! Still, $1,176 bucks and 53 books total is nothing to sneeze at!

It's a little more than half of what I likely would've got over the same period. That's better than I feared, for sure. I think part of the lower total is the lack of a deadline. I hate it, but the "all-or-nothing before the clock strikes 12" model that Kickstarter uses is a powerful thing. Thing is, its emotionally manipulative and I can do without that.

I had hoped that the special offers and add-ons listed at the bottom of the Kickstart This page would pick up some of the slack on that front. Not been the case so far. That $1,176 total includes one Gaunt 45 and a small set of sketchbook picture sleeves, but otherwise folks seem to be not so into buying "random" extra stuff. I just changed it again today to what you might call a deluxe size Sketchbook Picture leeve, and I'll keep it up for a while, if only to see my vision through. Good vision, but lousy plan? I guess we'll see!

So is there a deadline? I suppose there will be, but I'm going to decide when it is after a day-job trip to DC next week. It'll be in November and based on sales, printing time, and developing plans for events next year.

A little loosey goosey? Well, being loose about it is just one of the liberties of not using a crowdfunding platform. Stick that in yer "stretch goals" and snap it!
